CENTO ANNI DI OLIVETTI, IL PROGETTO INDUSTRIALE
Permanent exhibition at the Villetta Casana
In 2008, to celebrate the one hundredth anniversary of the foundation of the Olivetti Company, the Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti organised an important exhibition to spotlight the specialities of the Olivetti industrial project. This project focused on technological innovation and excellence yet, at the same time, revealed the social and cultural aspects of the world of work, commitment to training, the sense of social responsibility and sensitivity to culture in all its different forms and expressions. From the 16th of October to the 9th of November 2008 the historic Officina H in Ivrea (TO) hosted the “Olivetti 1908-2008, il progetto industriale“ exhibition, achieved with the backing of the Piedmont region and the Compagnia di San Paolo under the auspices of the Province of Turin and the Municipality of Ivrea.
This exhibition by the Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti achieved great success and was reintroduced at the Villetta Casana in Ivrea on the premises of the Archive where it offers a broad range of exhibition pieces. The exhibition path, no longer the areas in Officina H, were inevitably adapted, but generally remained faithful to that conceived by the Centenary exhibition curators. The name “Cento anni di Olivetti, il progetto industriale” summarises the goal of this exhibition with its evocative yet didactic path through documents, posters, photos and films that highlight the speciality of the Olivetti industrial project focusing on technological innovation and excellence yet, at the same time, attentive to the social and cultural aspects of work.
