DESCRIPTION
In this 1949 poster for the Lexikon 80 typewriter, Marcello Nizzoli, who designed both the poster and the machine, was inspired by a drawing of a bird by Paul Klee. Nizzoli graphically transforms it into a bird with a stroboscopic body, which emerges from the end of the machine’s writing carriage and warns with its chirping that it has run to the end of the line.
The reference to Klee’s painting is Nizzoli’s homage to the Bauhaus culture that was a point of reference in his training and cultural experience.
