Olivetti formes et recherche

Cod.: MAN0950

DESCRIPTION:
Reprint of the original 1969 poster for the travelling exhibition “Olivetti formes et recherche”. This is a limited edition screen printing, numbered and stamped. All copies are authenticated by a double stamp, a dry stamp from the printer and an ink stamp from the Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti, curator of the reprint.
The original poster arose from an idea by Clino Trini Castelli, with the collaboration of Roberto Pieracini for the graphic setting and chromatic choices. The iconography of the poster originates from the graphic and chromatic reworking of a Vitruvian taken from the historical manual for designing and building by Ernest Neufert. The image is modified and developed and derives a dynamic set of coloured traces, fluorescent colours on a black or blue background, depending on the reprints of the poster for the different stages of the exhibition, which trace an original ergonomic mapping. The man of ‘formes et recherche’ is accurately quoted in relation to his parts, and to a series of possible movements within a changing reference system, but what results is a sort of pop transcription of a classical Leonardo iconography, which shelves definitive solutions, inviting repeated experimentation, as a cognitive ritual, through a global sensory experience, as a way to free and open understanding.
