DESCRIPTION:
Catalogue of the film festival organised by the Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti.
Between the late 1940s and the early 1990s, Olivetti made a series of films on a surprising variety of themes (company, technology, science, art, culture, region) creating the basis of what would later become the prestigious Cineteca Olivetti, described in all its components by Adriano Bellotto in his essay, “La memoria del futuro” (‘The memory of the future’). From a mechanical engineering company such as Olivetti, documentaries were produced that are still considered classic examples of high cinematic quality. This is the case because, in perfect coherence with the coordinated image of the company, all aspects from the direction of these works to the texts, from the scenography to the music, were entrusted to personalities of the highest standing, who took care of the entire production process in detail.
