Le pietre e il muschio di Kyoto (The stones and moss of Kyoto)

Cod.: ASO0806

DESCRIPTION:
Catalogue of the exhibition organised by the Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti.
In 1979, in the United States, in one of the most important weeklies of economics and business, Business Week, a phrase was published that would certainly be a source of pride to someone from the Canavese area, but that would still please any other inhabitant of the Italian ‘boot’. The phrase was: “Ask a Japanese man what brand he thinks of when it comes to typewriters, and his first answer will most likely be Olivetti.”
Giovanni Pintori, one of the most famous graphic designers of the 20th century, quoted: “Adriano Olivetti was perhaps the first industrialist in the world to understand the importance of advertising communication in industrial events as a fundamental and irreplaceable means for the life and development of the company, attributing to information the same vital importance as production. In fact, ten years before an Olivetti machine arrived in Japan, a major exhibition of Olivetti graphics and design was organised by the Japanese in 1954.”
