The treasury of San Marco Venice

Cod.: ART0216

Olivetti’s commitment to the conservation and promotion of the national artistic heritage has been demonstrated through the organisation of large travelling exhibitions, intended not as simple image-based events, but rather as authentic cultural initiatives.
The Treasury of San Marco consists of a precious collection of enamels, refined pieces of goldsmithing, and worked stones. Following the success of the exhibition of the horses of San Marco, Olivetti –through an initiative proposed by Renzo Zorzi, Head of Cultural Activities – decided to organise a large travelling exhibition that would present the most precious objects of the Treasury of San Marco. Between 1984 and 1986, the exhibition was held in Paris, London, Cologne, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas and Rome. The catalogue contains images and texts that describe the works on display and illustrate their history.
