Archivi Digitali Olivetti is the result of the “Olivetti Integrated Projects” heritage enhancement evaluation plan started up in 2013 by the Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti and the Fondazione Adriano Olivetti with the support of the Compagnia di San Paolo.
For the first time, this online platform provides a cultural heritage, unique for its interdisciplinarity regarding the company archives on people, entities and institutions as well as the documentary collections of Olivetti history from 1908 to today.
Archvi Digitali Olivetti allows for databases concerning archive sets to be accessed either via a transversal search field pertaining to the whole collection or via a user-friendly solution to access six sections: Olivetti Company, Leading People in the history of Olivetti, Olivetti collections, Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti, the Fondazione Adriano Olivetti and other archives.
Not all the archive collections have been catalogued or published yet but to date, the documents that can be accessed online are those of most interest. As work progresses, more publications will also be available online. However, all the catalogued documentation is available for consultation on the Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti’s premises.
With the publication of the archive databases facilitating access, the work being done by scholars, researchers, students or others with the aim of broadening their knowledge of such an extraordinary industrial, social and cultural history has been made much easier. Still today, the history of this company is highly esteemed throughout the world and attracts great interest.
